Beginning as a men's wholesale brand; Scotch & Soda was bought by Eric Bijlsma, Patrick Munsters and Joep Krouwels in 2000 (These former owners are now part of the board of directors*). After this, Scotch & Soda rebranded and relaunched a year later by Harry Schofield, Leonard Feinblatt, and Leonard Buzz. Scotch & Soda was acquired by the brand house Kellwood Stables (an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners) in 2011. Scotch & Soda, Alkmaar, Netherlands Scotch & Soda collections are designed in-house with designers located at 'Number 22', Keizersgracht, Amsterdam – a design studio in a former church, in the heart of the city. All collections are designed under the Creative Direction of Marlou van Engelen, Creative Director since 2014. Scotch & Soda has achieved the E-label. This is the lowest possible sustainability score, and Scotch & Soda has earned it by communicating hardly any concrete about the policies for environment, carbon emissions or labor conditions in low-wages countries.
